⚡️🇮🇹🔥 A large fire is affecting the Gargano, between Peschici and Vieste, where the flames have reached the coastal areas of Manaccora and Baia Zaiana. About 400 tourists have been evacuated from beaches and campsites, partly by sea, while firefighters, Civil Protection and Canadair are engaged in extinguishing operations.

🔻The blaze, fueled by strong wind, started in the rural locality of Pile Fraballe and destroyed portions of Mediterranean scrub and pine forest. The mayor of Peschici described the fires as “deliberate,” claiming they were set in multiple places. The Vieste-Peschici coastline and part of state road 693 have been closed.

🔻Fires also in Lower Molise, between Termoli and Campomarino, where campsites, beach resorts and an elderly residence were evacuated. The flames reached the tracks, causing suspension of rail traffic on the Pescara-Foggia line, cancellations and severe delays.
